Adventure trek around Mongol Altai mountains
Overview
This fantastic trekking adventure takes place in Western Mongolia, in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park among the snow-capped peaks of the High Altai Mountains, one of the longest mountain chains in Central Asia. In this remote corner where Mongolia, China, and Russia meet, we discover a beautiful swath of untouched wilderness, topped by the 14,000-foot peaks of Tavan Bogd National Park. With Bactrian camels and horses to carry our gear, we camp at alpine lakes, hike to a glacier, explore ancient burial mounds and petroglyphs, and visit experience a pristine mountain Kazakh nomads with golden eagles.

Tour Itinerary
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Flight to Ulgii, the center of Bayan-Ulgii province. Drive to Eki Asha and Overnight.

Hike from Eki Asha to Tavan Bogd Mountains (TBM). Luggages and food will we carried by camels. Overnight nearby base camp.

Climb to Malchin peak which is 4050m. Malchin peaks you not need use crampons and axes. Come back by evening and overnight nearby base camp.

Heading downhill we will trek to Tsagaan gol valley following the white glacier river and beautiful deep canyans, Hike following Potanin glacier. Arrive at Tsagaan gol river. Visit a tuvan family.

Heading downhill and ascend up into the Khar Sala valley. The scene of Khar Salaa valley is very beautiful with snowcapped high peaks. We would set up our camp right in this valley.

We head away from Khar sala valley, and trek over the Takhilt mountain pass (3100m). We start steep pass, there would be snow on the pass. After the pass we will move downhill a long way the bottom of Ak su valley. On the way we will have chance to see some waterfalls. Our camp site is nearby white (Tsagaan) river /Ak su/and tributaries nearby.

Weight allowance
Mongolia’s domestic flight regulation restricts total allowed weight per person per flight to 15 kg total, including your carry on. The extra weight charge goes at about $2.5 per kg.

Hotel Khuvsgul lake
Set within 600 metres of Sukhbaatar Square and 700 metres of Chinggis Khan Statue, Khuvsgul Lake Hotel offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Ulaanbaatar.
Accommodation at Ulgii
Twelwe traditionally gers and 3 houses with private bathroom, provide accommodations for up to fourty guests.The Altai lodge located about 2 km west of the Bayan-Ulgii airport and 8 km from the town of Ulgii.
The lodge has also modern style restaurant, lodge is with modern bathroom facilities including flush toilets and comfortable showers with warm and cold running water fed by a solar 220w power system, and its own clean water deep drilled well. The lodge has full mobile cell phone accessibility.

Transportation
Land transportation is provided by Toyota Land Cruiser jeeps seating 4 passangers per vehicle. Some roads can be bumby and hard but our drivers are some of the most experienced and reliable in the country.
